Camelina oil contains more than twice as much omega 3 as 6 (about 38% omega 3, 18% omega 6 and 14% omega 9). That’s an almost perfect balance that is not found naturally in any other oil (2: 1).1 Camelina oil is also rich in vitamin E (antioxidants). 2 These nutrients can have many positive effects on the heart, body and mind. Fact is, 1−2 tsp of camelina oil is equivalent to the daily requirement of omega 3.3

The unique concentration of omega 3 fatty acids, like that in camelina oil, can contribute to:

  • Reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.4
  • An improved immune system and the function of the brain, eyes and nerves. 5
  • Protection against cognitive diseases such as dementia and Alzheimers.6
  • Prevention eye diseases such as macular degeneration.7
  • Prevention nerve damage caused by inflammation.8

We are a small family business with farming as our main occupation. This doesn’t stop us from being very ambitious when it comes to finding credible studies on the different uses for our camelina to reference, with reservation for the fact that data and research findings are constantly being updated. We think our camelina products are pretty fantastic, but we don’t claim that they are miracle remedies. Therefore, we take care to emphasise that it is the intake of the nutrients in our camelina oil and seeds (essential fatty acids, vitamin E, protein etc.) that can have positive effects on both body and mind. If you have questions about a reference, please do not hesitate to contact us.
